God

In the Old Testament, God declares Himself to be the husband and bridegroom of God’s people.

Reference Verse
Isaiah 54:5For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.
Jeremiah 31:32...not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them," declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 31:3-4, 33The Lord says… Israel, my bride, I will rebuild you… "I was a husband to them," declares the Lord.

Jesus

Yet, in the New Testament, Jesus is referred to as the husband and bridegroom.

2 Corinthians 11:2...for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.
Revelation 19:7-9...the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready… Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
