Alpha and Omega

The Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last is peculiarly the name of God, highlighting His eternal being.

God is referred to as the Alpha and the Omega (the first and last characters in the Greek alphabet), and the First and the Last.

Revelation 1:8	"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
Isaiah 44:6	Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god."

Yet Jesus takes the name "the Alpha and the Omega" and the "First and the Last".

Revelation 22:12-13	"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
